A controversy has erupted over a notice issued by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation’s Education Department. The dispute arose over replacing the holiday for Vishwakarma Puja with a two-day holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr. The Chief Manager of the Education Department in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation is facing allegations regarding this matter. Chief Manager Siddhartha Shankar Dhara has been asked to immediately explain why such a notice was issued.
Sandipan Saha, the Mayor-in-Council member of the Education Department in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, stated that disciplinary action will be taken after understanding the reasons behind the notice. The incident began with a notice issued by the Education Department.
Kolkata Municipal Commissioner Dhabal Jain issued a statement clarifying that the notice was released without consulting senior officials. He also mentioned that the Kolkata Municipal Corporation was unaware of this notice. The notice has since been canceled, and the concerned official from the Education Department has been summoned.
